Rabbi Laibel Berkowitz grew up in Southfield, Michigan with five brothers and three sisters. He received his Bachelors Degree from the Rabbinical College of Greater Miami and his Rabbinic Ordination at the Central Chabad Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY. While completing his rabbinical and postgraduate studies, Laibel spent time in Moscow, Russia, served as an assistant Rabbi at the University of Miami and was program director for Chabad of Georgia.

Chanie grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where her parents serve as Chabad’s representatives since 1987. At a young age Chanie left home to study at the Beis Rivkah girls school in Brooklyn, New York. Chanie furthered her education at the Chaya Aydel Teacher’s Seminary where she received a degree in education. She honed her talents teaching and running childrens’ programs in Raleigh, NC, Westchester, NY and at the Preschool of the Arts in NYC. She also established and coordinated a Mommy & Me program in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

With their dynamic personalities and friendliness, the Berkowitz duo are a great team to serve the needs of the Huntsville Jewish Community.
